Efter att sekvenser som filmats inne på en cirkus på populära turistorten Tangarang lagts ut på sociala medier har djurvänner världen över rasat. Bilderna visar bland annat hur delfiner tvingas upp på land, för att turister ska kunna ta ”selfies”. Detta menar djurrättsorganisationen Movement to End Animal Circuses är skadligt.
Nu sluter flera djurvänner samman och kräver att regeringen förbjuder behandlingen, det rapporterar NY Post.
Två delfiner ligger på mage på golv vid sidan om en pool. Där får de ligga så att turister kan ta kort på, och med dem, och röra vid dem. Men detta är både smärtsamt och farligt för delfinerna menar Movement to End Animal Circuses, som filmat inifrån en populär cirkus i Indonesiska Tangarang.
”Delfinerna tvingas upp ur vattnet så att besökare kan röra vid dem. Detta kan skada delfinerna. Deras känsliga hud dras mot golvet”, skriver organisationen på sin Facebooksida.
Mår dåligt när de tas ur vattnet
Naomi Rose, specialist på havslevande däggdjur vid Animal Welfare Institute, menar att delfinerna mår dåligt av att inte vara i vatten, då det blir stressade när de tas från sin naturliga miljö.
Kräver att regeringen sätter stopp
Genom att sprida avslöjande videon och bilder på sociala medier hoppas djurrättsorganisationen att fler ska stötta dem i att kräva att regeringen stoppar behandlingen av delfinerna.
